What Concrete Resurfacing Is
Concrete resurfacing applies a thin polymer-modified overlay over existing concrete. It renews a worn, scaled or stained surface without the cost and mess of tearing out the slab. It can be plain, broom-finished for grip, or decorative: stamped overlay patterns, stencils and colour.
When Resurfacing Works and When It Does Not
| Slab condition | Resurfacing? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Surface scaling, pitting, stains | Yes | The damage is cosmetic and the slab underneath is sound |
| Hairline cracks, stable | Yes, after crack treatment | Untreated cracks telegraph through a new overlay |
| Heaving or sinking sections | No, fix or replace first | An overlay cannot hold a slab that is still moving |
| Broken through, loose pieces | No | There is no solid surface left for the overlay to bond to |
| Poor drainage, ponding | Fix slope first | Standing water and freeze-thaw will lift the new surface |

How We Resurface
We diamond grind to a clean surface profile, repair cracks, honour existing control joints, apply the overlay and finish, then seal with a penetrating sealer suited to salt exposure.
The honest check
An overlay is only as good as the slab under it. If there is slab heave, we will point you to concrete repair first.
